Da Vinci Code

The bestselling novel by Dan Brown makes some big claims about the Biblical text and has created a great deal of controversy. Our students, parents and teachers are reading this and frequently take Brown’s claims as factual. He deliberately creates that impression in his preface. A Hollywood production of this movie is well into pre-production with Ron Howard as director and is likely to have a major star to play the lead (Russell Crowe and Tom Hanks are both rumours).

Shore School recently included a question on the book in a Year 10 exam.

A helpful article on the Da Vinci Code by Ben Witherington III.

PHOTOSTORY

An incredibly simple piece of software is available for combining photos, music, voice and text to create a visual effect. The first time I used it I made an AV presentation out of a few photos and a song in less than 10 minutes. You can download it free at Microsoft Photostory. I have enclosed a couple of examples to sus out below (you will probably need Windows Media Player 10 to play them):

POWERPOINTS
